Rain Gods Help Chennai

May 18, 2008 by Davil Kev

Chennai Super Kings 55 for 0 in eight overs (Fleming 32*) beat Kolkata Knight Riders 149 for 5 (Butt 73, Ntini 4-21) by three runs (D/L method)

For the second successive day Rain Gods played their cards and forced Duckworth-Lewis to decide what was shaping into a fascinating contest. Just yesterday, Punjab - Delhi match was stopped due to rains.

Today, it was Chennai v King Khan's game. Chasing a score of 150, Chennai was three runs ahead of the par score when a severe dust storm descended upon the Eden Gardens, and the rains that followed ensured there was no chance for the match to resume.

With this win Chennai Super Kings have 14 points in the ranking table, where as King Khan's Knight Riders are left with 10 points after each side has played 11 games. King Khan's Knight were the pre-tournament favorites. They are the most expensive league in the IPL
